The grand cycle of commemorations of the centenary of the Armistice ending Sunday by the forum of Paris for the peace at the Grande halle de La Villette. From 11 to 13 November, this international mini-summit will bring together more than 60 heads of State and government and leaders of international organizations. No meeting for the Russian-american
The forum will be opened at 15: 30 by Emmanuel Macron. Will then the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the secretary-general of the united nations, Antonio Guterres. The leaders of all the countries involved (directly or indirectly) in the Great War have been invited. Europeans, the victors and the defeated, but also the African (Mali, Niger, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Congo, Kenya…), the Middle East or Russia.
A time is considered, the head-to-head between president Vladimir Putin and his counterpart, Donald Trump will finally not take place. The idea excited neither the Americans, nor Paris, which did not want such a meeting, interferes with the cycle of commemorations.
The forum is conceived as a “new international rendez-vous” annual “and all the actors of governance”, that is to say, both States and international organizations, local governments, NGOS, academics, foundations, or businesses. Rather than a classic pattern articulated around catch words in succession, it will be structured by discussions mixing state actors and members of civil society. They will focus on 120 initiatives of actors who “are struggling to implement practical solutions to cross border problems”.

The discussions will focus on five themes: peace and security, environment, developments, new technologies and inclusive economy. Sign of the times, Human rights will not be subject to a full fledged theme.
