Anyone who likes to rock out at festivals will get their money’s worth again this year. These are the best all-around festivals of summer 2022.

If you like a wide range of music genres at festivals, the numerous all-round festivals are just the thing for you. From Rock am Ring to Hurricane and Southside to Lollapalooza Berlin: there is something for every taste at these events.

Rock am Ring and Rock im Park: 3.-5. June

One of Germany’s best-known double festivals regularly takes place at Pentecost: Rock am Ring and Rock im Park each attract around 70,000 fans who make the pilgrimage to the Eifel or Nuremberg. As every year, numerous music greats from different genres perform. 2022 will include:

Casper, Billy Talent, Green Day, Jan Delay

Anyone who hasn’t been able to get hold of tickets or prefers to remain cautious with regard to corona infections can also experience Rock am Ring from the comfort of their own couch: there is a live stream on RTL.

Melt Festival: 9.-12. June

More than 200 acts of different genres are on stage at this year’s Melt Festival. Indie, electronic and hip-hop lovers will be happy here. Every year around 20,000 fans populate Ferropolis, the “City of Iron” near Dessau. On stage are among others:

Arlo Parks, Honey Dijon, Jamie XX, Joy Orbison, Kamaal Williams, Little Simz, Tom Misch, Yves Tumor

Maifeld Derby: 10.-12. June

The Maifeld Derby has a varied line-up to offer again this year. Around 5,000 fans are expected in Mannheim for the comparatively small festival. In 2022, among others, these artists will rock:

Picture Book, Bonobo, Caribou, Kettcar, King Gizzard

Hurricane and Southside Festival: June 17-19

The sister festivals Hurricane and Southside offer artists for every musical taste: whether indie, rock, pop, electronic or hip-hop, everyone gets their money’s worth here. Around 60,000 fans celebrate in Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck. The two festivals will once again be presenting big names this year, including:

Bring Me The Horizon, Deichkind, Kings of Leon, K.I.Z., Martin Garrix, Rise Against, Seeed, The Killers, Twenty One Pilots

Deichbrand Festival: 21.-24. July

The Deichbrand Festival takes place on the North Sea coast near Cuxhaven at the end of July and attracts around 55,000 fans every year. If you don’t just want to swim in the crowd, but also in the sea, you’ll get your money’s worth here. These artists are among others on the stage:

Tauber Valley Festival: 11.-14. August

The Taubertal Festival is celebrating an anniversary this year: the event has been around for 25 years. In the picturesque town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber near Nuremberg, there is not only music for the ears, but also readings and yoga offers. Among other things, these live acts perform for the approximately 15,000 fans:

Highfield: 19.-21. August

Around 30,000 fans come to the Highfield near Leipzig every year. In 2022, the festival once again has an exciting and varied line-up to offer. Included are among others:

Lollapalooza Berlin: 24.-25. September

Numerous stars are rocking the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Park at the Lollapalooza Berlin this year. Around 75,000 fans are expected. In addition to the festival stages, there is also a diverse program in special worlds of experience. These acts include:
