Amendments to the Constitution will come into force on 4 July

amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation will enter into force on 4 July. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The text of the document published on the official Kremlin website.

“the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation under article 1 of the Law of the Russian Federation on the amendment of the Constitution (…) will become effective July 4, 2020”, – stated in the decree.

Putin said at a meeting with members of the working group on preparation of proposals on making relevant amendments, the amendments to the main law of the country was made “without any exaggeration, by the will of the people.”

“You know my position – changes to the Constitution affect everyone, and the final, decisive word here could only citizens of Russia”, – Putin said at the meeting, which transmits the channel “Russia 24”.

From June 25 to July 1 in Russia, voted for amendments to the Constitution. The results of processing of hundred percent of the protocols, the turnout was 67,97 percent. The amendment was supported 77.92 percentage (almost 58 million) of Russians. The CEC head Ella Pamfilova said that the vote was democratic, the outcome is without a doubt legitimate.
