Actually, everything seemed to be clear between Angel Di Maria and Juventus – but is FC Barcelona struggling between them?

Angel Di Maria’s future remains open following his departure from PSG. So far everything has looked like a move to Juventus Turin, but now FC Barcelona appears to be on the radar as well.

The Catalans see Di Maria as a good alternative to Ousmane Dembele should he leave the club in the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Argentine would be available on a free transfer – a good deal for indebted Barca.

Several aspects are said to benefit the Blaugrana: firstly, that Di Maria himself would apparently prioritize a move to Barcelona and secondly, that he would be offered a one-year contract there.

Angel Di Maria: Barcelona statt Juventus Turin?

According to information from GOAL and SPOX, the negotiations with Juve are stalling for precisely this reason: the Bianconeri want to tie the 34-year-old to them for two years, but Di Maria himself only wants to play one more year in Europe, for the World Cup in Qatar in top form stay and then return to the Argentine homeland.

The Barca managers around coach Xavi, for whom the signing of Leeds winger Raphinha could be too expensive, would probably grant him this wish. Di Maria knows the Spanish league very well: from 2010 to 2014 he played for Barca’s archrival Real Madrid.
