A car gets on the Untermain on the oncoming lane. There it rammed a coach – there are dozens injured.

When a coach collided with a car, 41 people were injured in Lower Franconia. Three of them were seriously injured in a hospital, the police said on Tuesday.

The other victims suffered minor injuries. Initially, the police had assumed two more injuries. After the accident, federal highway 469 near Laudenbach (Miltenberg district) was closed for hours in both directions. Rescue services, fire brigade and police were on site with many forces.

The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. directly on the Hessian-Bavarian border west of Würzburg. The coach came from the district of Fulda, the tour group itself comes from the district of Bad Kissingen. All 38 bus occupants were slightly injured. The bus driver and the two women in the car, aged 46 and 78, were seriously injured.

According to initial findings, the car, a minibus, got into the oncoming lane in the direction of Aschaffenburg for an unknown reason and crashed head-on into the coach. As a result, the bus came to a stop across the roadway. An expert was still at the scene of the accident in the afternoon to clarify the cause.
