Bayer Leverkusen is apparently close to signing Jayden Braaf. The 19-year-old was considered a great talent but has been out for a year.

Bayer Leverkusen is apparently about to sign offensive talent Jayden Braaf. As the online portal Tuttomercatoweb reports, the Werkself won the race for the 19-year-old. Braaf would come from Manchester City on a free transfer, and the Dutchman has already said goodbye to the Citizens via Instagram.

“I would like to thank everyone at Manchester City for the trust and support they have shown me over the past few years. I have grown both personally and professionally and would not be where I am today without their support. Thank you Thanks to my teammates, academy staff and fans,” he wrote.

Jayden Braaf: A year without a game after a knee injury

Braaf, who is mainly at home on the wings, switched to the Skyblues from the PSV Eindhoven youth team in 2018. At the time, he was considered one of Europe’s greatest talents. However, on loan to Udinese Calcio, he suffered a serious knee injury shortly before the end of the 2020/21 season and has not played a competitive game since.

For Leverkusen, a transfer would probably not be too big a risk. Braaf does not cost a high transfer fee, and the salary should also be manageable. However, if the youngster recovers fully, he can become a reinforcement for the Rhinelanders’ offensive.
