Emma Heming Willis (43) suffers after her husband was diagnosed with aphasia. That’s what Bruce Willis’ (67) wife explained in an interview with “The Bump”. The former model said she finds it difficult to make time for her own well-being every day. “I put my family’s needs ahead of my own,” said the 43-year-old. But that doesn’t make her a heroine: “That didn’t help anyone in my family.”
This is because this level of caring for everyone else in her household has impacted her own mental and general health. “If you care too much about someone, you end up caring too little about yourself,” someone told her. That made the mother of two sit up and think. Her basic need is movement. “It’s a time when I can switch off and do something,” she notes. In her opinion, it is important to find something that makes you feel good. Then you can build on that.
End of career in March
In the past she was challenged by her husband’s job. After the birth of her first daughter, she traveled a lot. “My husband signed on for three films that took us around the world in good old Bruce Willis style in the first year,” she says. In hindsight, that time in her life was perfect. The family has been through a lot since then.
In March 2022, Bruce Willis’ family, which includes his wife, ex-wife Demi Moore, 59, and children, shared a joint statement on Instagram. The Hollywood star had to end his acting career at the age of 67, it said. The reason for this is the recent diagnosis of aphasia.
Aphasia is a speech disorder caused by damage to the brain. Those affected may have problems speaking and understanding language, including reading and writing.
Bruce Willis was married to Demi Moore from 1987 to 2000. Together they have daughters Rumer (33), Scout (30), and Tallulah (28). In 2009 he married Emma, with the model he had two more daughters, Mabel (10) and Evelyn (8).
