Bryan Cranston currently likes his beard long and bushy. The actor is hardly recognizable.

Bryan Cranston (66) caused a surprise at the Tony Awards ceremony in New York City on Sunday evening (June 12). The actor appeared at the event with a thick, long beard. His face was barely recognizable underneath.

Cranston’s facial hair was also an issue on stage. The series star came upstairs to receive one of the awards and chatted with his colleague Tony Goldwyn (62). According to US media reports, the 62-year-old joked: “Can we please get to work so you can look for your lost razor blade again?”

Bart is always changing

It’s not uncommon for Bryan Cranston to walk around with facial hair. The beard of the 66-year-old is apparently rarely seen in such a length and density. The actor, best known for his roles as Hal in ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ (2000-2006) and Walter White in ‘Breaking Bad’ (2008-2013), has also gone clean-shaven frequently.

Cranston himself has twice been honored on the Tony Awards stage. He won the most important American theater and musical award for “Best Actor” for “All The Way” (2014) and for “Network” (2019). He is also a multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner and was nominated for an Oscar for his title role in “Trumbo.”
