Duala is Cameroon’s largest city with almost three million inhabitants. Even today, Rudolf Duala Manga Bell is commemorated here every August 8th with a celebration. Because on this day in 1914, a Saturday, German colonial officials executed him, along with his closest confidant, Adolf Ngoso Din. The charge was high treason. But there was no evidence.
