A young woman has to suffer severe upper body injuries. A suspect was arrested and is now in custody.

A 26-year-old was seriously injured by a man in the shared apartment in Munich. According to current knowledge, the 56-year-old suspect is her father-in-law, the police said on Sunday.

When the police arrived at the apartment, she was no longer responsive and had serious injuries to her upper body. Apparently these were caused by blunt force, it was said.

The ambulance service first treated her on Saturday and then took her to the hospital. The officers arrested the 56-year-old and found a tool that was believed to be the murder weapon. The motive for the crime is so far unclear. As a police spokesman said on Sunday, the suspect is now in custody.
