The first trailer for the sequel to “Hocus Pocus” is here – and with it, of course, the three diabolical Sanderson witch sisters.

It’s been almost three years since the news broke that streaming provider Disney was working on a sequel to the cult comedy “Hocus Pocus” from 1993. The first trailer for the sequel, which starred the three stars of the original – Bette Midler (76) , Sarah Jessica Parker (57) and Kathy Najimy (65) – reunited, it took until now. In return, the viewer immediately learns how the three Sanderson witch sisters can return at all.

After all, in the original from almost 30 years ago, they met a quite definitive fate. Luckily, today’s youth are obviously still fascinated by the dark arts – and surprisingly, conjuring up witches in the dark forest even works, as can be seen in the trailer. “Some legends never die,” it says.

“Lock your children away!”

But only at the very end does the preview clip allow a glimpse of the three revived witch sisters Winifred, Mary and Sarah. “Lock your kids away! Yes, Salem, we’re back!” Midler’s diabolical character can be heard first. The final shot in the trailer proves that neither she nor Parker nor Najimy have lost their magical charm of the original – including the witch trio in all their glory and more than ready for the spotlight again.

In the original, it took exactly three centuries before the devilish trio was revived after their deeds in Salem. The sequel won’t even be 30 years. Later this year, more precisely from September 30th, “Hocus Pocus 2” will be available to stream via Disney.
