Four years ago, Kostya separated. Now Janin Ullmann is ready for a new love. “Let’s Dance” contributed to this.

In 2018, the marriage between actor Kostja Ullmann (37) and presenter Janin Ullmann (40) broke up. But now, around four years after the breakup, this year’s “Let’s Dance” finalist is ready for a new love. In an interview with the “Bild” newspaper, Ullmann said: “For the first time in my life I am very close to myself and open to new things – including love.”

The RTL show also helped her: “Dancing was my personal Way of St. James, so I threw off a lot of soul ballast.” She suddenly felt feelings that she had suppressed for a long time: “I often shed tears, but afterwards I felt better.” You have to let yourself go while dancing and open your soul. “I wanted to try and I succeeded,” reports Ullmann.

Janin Ullmann: Separation announced in December 2018

Janin Ullmann, who was born Reinhardt, had been in a relationship with actor Kostja Ullmann since 2008. The two married in July 2016. They announced their separation in December 2018. In a joint Instagram post, they confirmed the corresponding media reports at the time. They tried to keep private life out of the public eye as much as possible, but were forced to comment due to media pressure: “Guys, we have split up. We can handle it, hopefully you too.”

Ullmann is in the final of “Let’s Dance” on Friday evening (8:15 p.m. on RTL and RTL). Together with her dance partner Zsolt Sándor Cseke (34), she will perform a Cha Cha Cha and a Contemporary. In the final freestyle, the two chose the topic “Burlesque”. Her celebrity opponents are athlete Mathias Mester (35) and circus artist and ninja warrior René Casselly (25).
