Sport was on the agenda for the partner program of the G7 summit in Bavaria. The First Ladies went Nordic Walking with Christian Neureuther.

The G7 summit at Schloss Elmau is underway. In addition to Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64), French President Emmanuel Macron (44), Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi (74), Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida (64), Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (50), US President Joe Biden (79 ), British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (58), Charles Michel (46), President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen (63), President of the European Commission. And some first ladies also came to the conference venue in the Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Christian Neureuther (73) took care of them as part of the summit partner program on Sunday. The former ski racer comes from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and is an honorary citizen of the community. Together with his daughter-in-law, ex-biathlon star Miriam Neureuther (32), he went Nordic walking with his prominent guests. Carrie Johnson (34), Brigitte Macron (69), Scholz’s wife Britta Ernst (61) and Charles Michel’s partner Amelie Derbaudrenghien (41) were there. The group is said to have been on the Ferchensee in the municipality of Mittenwald.

Traveling with a baby

Also visible in the pictures of the sports group: Miriam Neureuther had her little daughter Lotta with her, she carried the baby in a carrying bag in front of her upper body. In April, Felix Neureuther (38) and his wife revealed that they had become parents for the third time. The couple also have children Matilda (born 2017) and Leo (born 2020).

For Britta Ernst, Brandenburg’s Minister for Education, Youth and Sport in her main job, it is her first major appearance as chancellor’s wife. Among other things, a lecture on climate change and a meeting with a master violin maker are planned for the partner program.

Not all summit participants traveled to Bavaria with an escort: Biden, Draghi, Trudeau, Kishida and von der Leyen came alone.
