Climate activist Greta Thunberg (19) made a surprise appearance at the famous Glastonbury Festival in England. On the main stage, the Swede and “Fridays for Future” initiator called for more commitment to the climate on Saturday afternoon.

“We are approaching the abyss,” Thunberg warned in her speech. She advises everyone whose senses have not yet been clouded by greenwashing to assert themselves. “Don’t let them drag us any closer to the abyss. We should hold the fort right now.” The 19-year-old shared a photo of her performance and an excerpt of her speech on Instagram.

Greta Thunberg entered the main stage just before the band Haim set. Later in the evening, ex-Oasis musician Noel Gallagher (55) and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney (80) as the main act performed on the same stage.
