No organ is currently being researched as intensively as the intestine and its inhabitants. The scientists warn that it is still too early to take advantage of the findings. However, some preliminary answers are possible.

1. Does sauerkraut help the intestinal flora?

Some experts recommend consuming as much “living” food as possible that naturally contains living bacteria: pickled vegetables such as kimchi or sauerkraut, yoghurt and kefir, kombucha, raw milk and raw milk cheese. However, there is no scientific data on this. A food that rich in living bacteria could theoretically contribute to a more species-rich and therefore healthier microbiota.
