Many teenagers today dream of being discovered through Tiktok or Instagram. You played your first leading role in 1965 when you were only 16 years old. How did you draw attention to yourself back then? Through my nose! When I was in school theater, a teacher advised me to become an actress. One day my father showed me a newspaper article: “Die pious Helene” by Wilhelm Busch was to be made into a film, and a young girl was wanted as an actress. He said I had the pious Helene’s snub nose. After we sent photos to the production company, I was promptly invited to test shoots.
