Horst Sachtleben is dead. The star from “For Heaven’s sake”, who lent his distinctive voice to Peter Falk as a voice actor, was 91.

For almost 20 years, Horst Sachtleben played Bishop Rossbauer alongside Fritz Wepper (80) in the ARD series “Um Himmels Willen”. The actor has now passed away at the age of 91. This was announced by Sachtleben’s artist agency, citing his wife Pia Hänggi.

In 2002, the theater studies graduate joined the popular evening series “Um Himmels Willen”. However, he retired from show business in 2020 due to the corona pandemic and fear of infection. In his almost 60-year career, Sachtleben has been involved in countless TV and film productions, from “Derrick” and several episodes of “Tatort” to films such as “Jenseits der Stille” and “Das Phantom”. However, he remained loyal to no format as long as “Um Himmels Willen”.

His voice was also famous

Apart from his work as an actor, Sachtleben also made a name for himself as a director and voice actor. Among other things, he lent his distinctive voice to “Columbo” star Peter Falk. Other actors such as Harvey Keitel, Peter Fonda, Wallace Shawn and Donald Pleasence were among the stars who were set to German by him.
