Again: Hugh Jackman has Corona. For the star, the infection means a forced break on Broadway.

Hugh Jackman (53) has been infected with the corona virus – for the second time. A day after appearing at the Tony Awards in New York, he tested positive. The star had already contracted Covid in December 2021. In a video, the actor announced the bad news via Instagram. “I’ve frustratingly tested positive for Covid. Again,” Jackman captioned the video.

Forced break on Broadway for Hugh Jackman

For Hugh Jackman, the infection means a career break. The Australian is currently on stage on Broadway in the musical “The Music Man”. Jackman was nominated for a Tony Award for his leading role. At the ceremony on Sunday, he sang a number from the play on stage.

Now Jackman’s stand-in Max Clayton takes over. The Hollywood star uses his Instagram post to celebrate his “incredibly talented” understudy – and the entire profession. “Maxi and all the other jumpers and underlings around the world, you are the true heroes of the theater,” writes Jackman. “You give real meaning to the saying ‘The Show Must Go On'”.

After being infected in December, Jackman had to take a break from Broadway.
