After the school massacre in the small Texas town of Uvalde, in which at least 19 children and two adults died, there were numerous reactions from politicians.
Former US President Barack Obama: “Michelle and I join the families in Uvalde in mourning. They are experiencing pain no one should endure.” He and his wife are also angry, the US Democrat added, criticizing the opposition US Republicans in this regard. “Our country is paralyzed, not by fear, but by a gun lobby and political party that have shown no willingness to do anything to prevent these tragedies,” Obama said.
Pope Francis: “My heart is broken after the elementary school bloodbath in Texas. I pray for the children, for the dead adults and for their families.”
Emmanuel Macron: cowardly attack
Texas Gov. Ted Cruz: “Today is a dark day. We are all completely disgusted and heartbroken. To date, 15 innocent people have died. 14 were children. Others remain in critical condition or are otherwise injured, and we all pray for each of them.”
