After a successful attack on ATM bombers in several federal states and the Netherlands, a suspect is still being sought across Europe.

The 35-year-old could not be arrested during the action on Tuesday and has been on the run ever since. This was announced by the Osnabrück police on Friday and published pictures of the man who was last allegedly in the Netherlands.

It cannot be ruled out that he is currently in Germany or will enter Germany, the investigators from Lower Saxony said. On Wednesday, the investigators informed about a joint action against ATM blowers in North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and the neighboring country. The months of undercover investigations and arrests were coordinated from Osnabrück.

Of 13 people between the ages of 19 and 35 who were arrested over a long period of time, ten suspects are currently in custody – seven in the Netherlands, two in Belgium and one in Germany. During the measure on Tuesday, the officials found, among other things, suspected perpetrator clothing, stolen license plates and several cell phones. The investigators estimated the total damage to date at more than four million euros.

According to Wednesday’s report, 17 members of a Dutch group of criminals are strongly suspected of having blown up a total of twelve ATMs in Germany – six in Rhineland-Palatinate, three in North Rhine-Westphalia, two in Lower Saxony and one in Hesse.
