Kim Kardashian lost a few pounds ahead of the Met Gala. This nasty side effect brought on her diet…

At the Met Gala in early May, Kim Kardashian (41) caused a stir with a Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) dress. In order to be able to present the robe, Kardashian lost several kilos, according to media reports at the event. Now the 41-year-old told Allure magazine that the three-week diet she followed before the Met Gala caused her to develop “really painful” psoriasis.

Kardashian appears to normally eat a vegetarian diet, but ate meat prior to the Met Gala. In the Allure interview, she explained, “Psoriasis broke out on my body and I got psoriatic arthritis, so I couldn’t really move my hands.” She visited a rheumatologist who was able to help her with medication. “I freaked out,” Kardashian said. “I left the meat out and it calmed down.”

That’s what she tells her critics

Kardashian went carb-free for three weeks on her diet. She is said to have lost around seven kilos in a short time. The fact that she spoke about it publicly does not suit everyone. The reality TV star told Allure about the criticism: “If I was starving and it was really unhealthy I would say that of course that’s not good news.” Kardashian added, “But I had a nutritionist, I had a trainer. I’ve never drank more water in my life.” Again comparing her pre-Met Gala weight loss to acting for an actor, she said: “I don’t see the criticism of other people when they’ve lost weight for roles – they’re considered geniuses in their field.”

At the beginning of June, the 41-year-old had said something similar in the “New York Times”: “I didn’t say: ‘Hey people, why don’t you lose this weight in a short time?'” And further: “It was for me like, ‘OK, Christian Bale can do it for a movie role, and that’s fine. Also, Renée Zellweger upped the ante for a role. It’s all the same to me.’
