Bigger, faster and better: Tablets are currently experiencing a real boom. According to current statistics, mobile PCs are used in over 50 percent of all households in Germany – and the trend is rising. But where does the interest come from?

The number of people using a mobile PC has risen rapidly in the last four years: while just over 15 million people owned a tablet in 2016, by 2020 there were already more than 19 million. This suggests that the trend was not triggered by the corona pandemic and the associated working from home office. In fact, the growing interest could be based on a simple explanation: Bigger than a smartphone, but smaller – and above all more handy – than a laptop, the mobile PC is a practical all-rounder for at home and on the go. Depending on the manufacturer, the common brands differ in terms of equipment and price. We therefore took a closer look at five different tablets with almost or just over twelve inches and compared them with each other.

1. THIS IS THE TIME UBook Tablet PC

With just under twelve inches, we start the round of introductions with an inexpensive model: The CHUWI UBook tablet PC weighs just 800 grams and is therefore particularly suitable for working with it when you are on the go. But the tablet also serves its purpose at home, as long as you “only” want to work with it – i.e. write and read. The U-shaped kickstand, the integrated keyboard and the Hi Pen H3, which are included in the scope of delivery, are particularly practical. In addition to the charging connection, the model also has two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a micro-HDMI connection, a 3.5 millimeter jack plug, a micro-SD card slot and a USB Type-C port. Conclusion: Anyone who does not have too high demands on a tablet is well served with this one. Get the tablet here.

2. Hyrican Enwo Pad Tablet

It continues with a slightly higher-priced model: The Enwo Pad from Hyrican is just over twelve inches with its touch display. Here, too, a pen, a stand and a keyboard are included in the scope of delivery, which you can use when working on the go. The tablet is also very light with a weight of 740 grams, but its battery lasts significantly longer (according to the manufacturer) than the cheaper model in this series. In addition to the 5 MP front camera, the mobile PC has a 13 MP rear camera. Conclusion: The model looks solid, but the consumer should not expect miracles here either. However, the tablet is definitely suitable for working and surfing in the home office. Get the tablet here.

3. Microsoft Surface Pro 7

This model from Microsoft is significantly more expensive: The Surface Pro 7 has a tenth generation Intel Core processor and is therefore significantly faster than its predecessor. The slim and light (780 grams) 2-in-1 tablet has a 12.3-inch touch display and can – if desired – be converted into a laptop with a suitable keyboard (type cover). This makes writing so much easier. Otherwise, the mobile PC knows how to impress with the following features: USB-C and USB-A ports, a Microsoft Office 365 trial version (but only for 30 days) and a long battery life. Conclusion: A powerful model that comes without a keyboard and pen. Get the tablet here.

4. Samsung Galaxy Tab S7

In the context of the Samsung Galaxy tablet series, this model has by far the largest display: According to the manufacturer, films and series can be streamed without any problems on the 12.4-inch screen. This is made possible by four components: MOLED2 technology, the quad speaker system, a blue light filter and Dolby Atmos. The Tab S7 makes gamers’ hearts beat faster, but is just as good for working. In addition, at 575 grams, it is also feather-light. Also preinstalled on the mobile PC are Netflix and Spotify, the Galaxy Store, pop-up play and Microsoft apps. Another highlight is the S Pen, which is included and is magnetic. This allows it to be fixed to the back of the tablet. Conclusion: The tablet offers everything you need. Get the tablet here.

5. Apple iPad Pro

Last but not least, Apple completes the round of introductions: The iPad Pro is the most expensive model of the round, but it also has a lot to offer: Thanks to the A12Z Bionic chip, the tablet is faster than many other PCs. Again, a keyboard (separately) can be purchased to make typing easier. The memory offers an enormous amount of space, so that your iPad can be used privately and professionally at any time. Thanks to the 7 MP front camera and the 12 MP rear camera, you can take razor-sharp photos and then admire them on the huge – almost 13 inch – display. Conclusion: whether for surfing or chatting, watching films or listening to music, playing or reading, working or shopping; the tablet is suitable for all situations in life. Get the tablet here.
