Being arrested is a pretty life-changing experience for a normal citizen. A 28-year-old Dane was less impressed. And even after the second arrest on the same day, he just kept going.

There are days when things don’t go so smoothly. But while for most people that means tipping the coffee cup once too many times and banging your head on the lamp, one young man in Denmark has raised the bar a little. He was arrested three times in a single day on Monday.

It started at 1:55 a.m. During a routine check, the police arrested the man because a bailiff was looking for him on an arrest warrant, reports the local newspaper “Ekstrabladet”. After being brought before the judge at 9:35 a.m., he was allowed to be released again.

No end in sight

But that didn’t last long. At around 11 a.m., the man entered a small 7eleven supermarket in Nykøbing Falster train station. There he stuffed several unspecified products into his backpack. And left without paying. But he hadn’t planned his act particularly well. It was only shortly afterwards that he apparently remembered that he had forgotten his smartphone in the store – he had charged it with the cable. When he went to get it, the police were already waiting for him in the store. And the handcuffs clicked for the second time.

Even most criminals would probably have kept their feet a little still for the rest of the day after that. But this young man apparently did not let himself be deterred – and even went one better.

At 4:18 p.m., the police received a report that someone on a moped had crashed over a jetty in Stubbekøbing, 20 kilometers away. The perpetrator had an ax with him, which he is said to have shown to some young people, according to the ad. When the police arrived, they met the 28-year-old again. And he actually had an ax in his backpack. After police took a gun charge and confiscated the axe, he was released again. And made it to the evening with no further ads.
