Ricky Martin’s lawyer comments on serious allegations made against the singer. The allegations are “disgusting”.

Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, 50, has denied allegations that he was in a relationship with his nephew. “Ricky Martin has, of course, never been involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew, and never would be,” Martin’s attorney, Marty Singer, said in a statement to People magazine.

“The notion is not only untrue, it is disgusting,” the statement continued. The person who made the claim is said to be struggling with “deep mental challenges”. “We all hope this man gets the help he so desperately needs.”

One cannot expect a judge to take this “terrible case” seriously once he has a closer look at the facts, it said. Singer also gave the statement to the industry portal “Deadline” and the US TV show “Today”.

Injunction against Ricky Martin

According to media reports, a Puerto Rican court issued an injunction against Martin in early July. Police have confirmed, according to Telemundo Puerto Rico television, that the order was issued in connection with a domestic violence law against Martin. A hearing is planned for July 21. “The allegations against Ricky Martin, which led to a protection order, are completely false and fabricated,” said representatives of the 50-year-old.

The singer had also spoken out himself and wrote on Twitter that the order issued against him was “based on completely false allegations”. However, since the process is ongoing, he “cannot make any detailed statements at this time”.
