Warner Bros. has a new “Ocean’s Eleven” movie in the works. Margot Robbie is set to star in the prequel.

After two sequels and a spin-off, a prequel to “Ocean’s Eleven” is apparently being planned. As “The Hollywood Reporter” reports, Margot Robbie (31) is supposed to play the leading role in it. Accordingly, the crooked film is currently in “development” at Warner Bros., but the green light has not yet been given. Production could start in spring 2023.

Robbie will also reportedly serve as a producer on the film with her production company, LuckyChap. Jay Roach (64) is said to be directing. The Australian worked with him in 2019 for the drama “Bombshell”, which earned her an Oscar nomination. Hardly anything is known about the screenplay by Carrie Solomon, the film is said to be set in Europe in the 1960s.

In George Clooney’s footsteps

Margot Robbie would have big shoes to fill with the role. In 2001, Steven Soderbergh’s (59) “Ocean’s Eleven” was the first film in the series – a remake of the 1960 film “Ocean’s 11” – with a star cast consisting of George Clooney ( 61), Matt Damon (51), Brad Pitt (58), Julia Roberts (54) and many more. The sequel “Ocean’s 12” followed in 2004 and “Ocean’s 13” in 2007.

In 2018, a spin-off with a well-known female cast was released under the name “Ocean’s 8”. The main roles were Sandra Bullock (57), Cate Blanchett (53), Helena Bonham Carter (55), Mindy Kaling (42) and Anne Hathaway (39) as well as Rihanna (34), Awkwafina (33) and Sarah Paulson (47) to see.
