“Tonight we received the shocking news of the serious events in Copenhagen,” read the post, which was published on the palace’s Instagram page on Sunday night and was signed by “the Queen and the Crown Prince Couple”. The Danish royals continue to write: “We do not yet know the full extent of the tragedy, but it is already clear that more people have lost their lives and that more have been injured.”

“Our deepest sympathy”

The Queen and the Crown Prince couple commemorate the victims. “Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to the victims, their families and everyone affected by the tragedy,” they write. The situation calls for unity and care, “and we would like to thank the police, emergency services and health authorities for acting quickly and effectively during these hours.”

Three people lost their lives

According to the police, three people were killed in the shots in the Danish capital, and three other people were seriously injured and in critical condition. A 22-year-old Dane known to the police has been arrested.
