It’s a shock for BVB new signing Sébastien Haller and his club: a tumor on the testicles was discovered in the 28-year-old. He left the Borussia training camp.

BVB newcomer Sébastien Haller is seriously ill and has therefore left the Borussia Dortmund training camp early. As the Bundesliga soccer club announced late Monday evening, a tumor was discovered in the testicles of the 28-year-old international from Ivory Coast. He complained about being unwell in training on Monday morning and was therefore absent in the evening’s 3-1 friendly against Valencia FC. “During the coming days, further examinations will take place in a specialized medical center,” said the BVB statement.

“Shock for Sébastien Heller and all of us”

“Today’s news was a shock for Sébastien Haller and for all of us. The entire BVB family wishes Sébastien that he will recover completely as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon. We will do everything in our power to ensure that he gets the best possible treatment,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

The striker, who was hired by Ajax Amsterdam for over 30 million euros, only started preparing for the new season last Monday. He should close the gap in the Dortmund storm center that arose after Erling Haaland left Manchester City.
