“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris stops by “Doctor Who”. He plays a villain in the anniversary special.

“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris (48) plays in “Doctor Who”. The American is a guest star in the 60th anniversary special of the British cult series. According to showrunner Russell T Davies (59), he plays “the greatest enemy the Doctor has ever had to face”.

“I will do my best to do my worst”

Harris posted a picture on Instagram showing him in his new role’s costume. The star of the series is hardly recognizable with a stern look, a strange hair dryer wave and an old-fashioned outfit including glasses.

“I’ve never looked so dashing,” Harris captioned the photo. “I will do my best to do my worst,” promises the actor. “This Doctor has no idea what’s in store for him. And even if he did… who cares?” Harris continues – and closes with a super villain-like laugh.

Phenomenon “Doctor Who”: Who is playing in the anniversary special?

Ncuti Gatwa (29) is the first black actor in the history of the series. However, it is not yet clear whether Gatwa will also appear in the anniversary special alongside Neil Patrick Harris. Because it just became known that David Tennant (51) is returning. The 10th Doctor retired in 2010.
