After an eight-year break, Cameron Diaz will soon be back in front of the camera for a film. She’s looking forward to it.

Hollywood star Cameron Diaz (49) returns to the camera for a joint film with Jamie Foxx (54) after a year-long break. This was announced by Foxx on Wednesday (local time) on Twitter.

“Cameron and I are Back in Action – that’s the title of our new movie with Netflix,” Foxx wrote. “Production will start this year.” The streaming provider also shared the post on its Twitter account.

Foxx also published a short recording of a phone call between the two. Diaz is nervous about her comeback. “I’m happy, but I don’t even remember how it all works, you know?” she says. Foxx then gets football star Tom Brady on the phone to help her. “Jamie told me you need tips on stepping out of retirement. I’m pretty good at it,” jokes the athlete. Brady announced his comeback to the NFL in March after just 40 days as a sports retiree. The tips he gave Diaz can no longer be heard in the recording.

The actress also shared the news on her own Instagram story. “Jamie, only you could put me back in action!” she wrote. “I can’t wait, it’s going to be fun!” According to the industry magazine “Entertainment Weekly”, the film is an action comedy. There is no release date yet.

Diaz was last seen in the musical adaptation “Annie” in 2014 – also together with Jamie Foxx. Then she retired from the film business. In 2015 she married the Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, in 2019 the couple’s daughter was born.
