Samuel L. Jackson will voice Garfield’s father in a new animated film. Chris Pratt lends his voice to the cult cat.

The iconic cat Garfield is getting a new animated film. Samuel L. Jackson (73), known for pithy characters, will speak to the father of the lazy Monday hater, as reported by the industry portal “Deadline”. It was already known in November that “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt (42) lends his voice to the main character.

It is still unclear when work will begin or when the new “Garfield” film will be released. But it is said to be based on the iconic comic strip by Jim Davis (76) – and there are also two animation professionals behind the project. The script was written by David Reynolds, who co-wrote the hit Finding Nemo. Mark Dindal (61, “Heaven and Chicken”) directs. The two previously worked together on Disney’s A Kingdom for a Llama.

Several projects for Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson seems to have quite a busy schedule. At the beginning of April, the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” reported that he would play in a new project together with Uma Thurman (52) – in the comedic crime thriller “The Kill Room”. The actor is also set to return to Broadway with The Piano Lesson in September.
