There’s a meeting of generations in the new ‘Jurassic World’ movie. In the media satire «France», Léa Seydoux knows how to stage herself. “A Big Promise” tells the story of a married couple who are faced with a difficult decision.

«Jurassic World: A New Era»

In «Jurassic World: A New Age», the presence of the dinosaurs is no longer limited to a single remote island or amusement park, but they have spread all over the planet.

Unlike previous Earth ages, they now constantly encounter the troublesome human species there, leading to a lot of entanglements. This is the material for the sixth “Jurassic” film, which also completes the trilogy of “Jurassic World” films. The special appeal for fans of the genre is that the stars of the ’90s “Jurassic Park” series like Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill meet Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the “Jurassic World” generation.

“France”: Mediensatire with Léa Seydoux

France de Meurs is a well-known French TV presenter and reporter. Whether in the theaters of war in the Sahel zone and Syria or at a press conference in the Elysée Palace with French President Emanuel Macron: France de Meurs knows how to present itself.

It is less about neutral and informative reporting than about ratings and the buzz. Her goal is to be the best and the first – until the day a mundane car accident throws her life and career into jeopardy. With «France», the French director Bruno Dumont («The Fine Society») has filmed a satire about the media world. He was able to win France’s screen star Léa Seydoux for the leading role (“Blue is a warm color”).

“A big promise” portrays the couple

The drama “A Great Promise” tells of a question that is probably one of the most difficult in life: When is it time to put a loved one in a nursing facility?

The film portrays an elderly couple. A particularly beautiful phase is supposed to begin for Juditha (Dagmar Manzel) and Erik (Rolf Lassgård). When he retires, she hopes to spend more time together. But Juditha’s condition is deteriorating – she has been living with multiple sclerosis (MS) for a long time. Director Wendla Nölle has previously made documentaries and is now presenting her first feature film, which is as ruthless as it is touching.
