After two years of forced Corona break, old rocker Udo Lindenberg is going on tour again. “Udopium Live 2022” starts in Schwerin in front of a sold-out hall. The 76-year-old has more than 20 concerts until July.

Udo Lindenberg is going on tour in Germany for the first time after two years of the corona pandemic. “Udopium Live 2022” starts on Tuesday evening (8 p.m.) in Schwerin. The sports and congress hall holds 8000 listeners and is sold out according to the management.

Lindenberg fans can look forward to many old and new songs. It is no coincidence that the tour title refers to Lindenberg’s most recent album “Udopium – Das Beste”, which was released in 2021.

The panic rocker always uses contemporary history in his songs and comments on current events. Against the background of Russia’s war against Ukraine, he will also sing his 40-year-old peace ballad “Why are wars there” in the tour concerts, it said. Lindenberg, who also paints, recently auctioned off eight large banners with anti-war motifs for almost 40,000 euros. Proceeds go to Unicef emergency aid for children in Ukraine.

The 76-year-old old rocker is planning more than 20 concerts by mid-July, including in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Mannheim. The longing of the fans seems to be great. According to the management, all concerts are sold out except for the remaining tickets. Several additional concerts have been arranged.

Udo Lindenberg’s last live tour to date took place in 2019. The 2020 and 2021 tours have been canceled due to the corona pandemic.
