The detectives meet the family of the missing, who react emotionally to the news. König and Böwe take up the investigation and work their way through the mysteries of the past. “Thieves” begins with a crime scene that looks like a household accident. It soon turns out, however, that the accidental death was faked. Clues lead to drug addict Mascha Kovicz (Meira Duran), who keeps herself and her little daughter Holli (Mathilda Graf) afloat with burglaries. Melly Böwe approaches the small family emotionally and doesn’t realize that Masha is putting them all in danger. Meanwhile, König meets her missing father Günther Wernicke (Wolfgang Michael).
