Mr. Matthes, since the outbreak of war in the Ukraine have you sometimes caught yourself thinking: it would be better if she were still chancellor and not Olaf Scholz? Oddly enough, no. Not once. That probably has something to do with my personal relationship with Angela Merkel. I begrudge her that now, in this situation, she no longer bears any responsibility. And I thought it was right that she resigned. The time was right. I say that with great sympathy for them.
