What is said to have happened between Depp, Heard and Henriquez

Depp and Heard insulted each other at the time. At one point the dispute escalated. Henriquez was at the top of a flight of stairs with her sister. The actor ran up the steps, hit her and caught her in the back.

“He comes up behind me and punches me in the back. I hear Amber screaming, don’t hit my fucking sister. She hits him, lands one,” Henriquez said, as reported by CNN. Before a bodyguard could intervene, the 58-year-old allegedly grabbed Heard’s hair with one hand. With the other, he repeatedly hit the actress in the face, as Henriquez testified. Whitney Henriquez confirmed her sister’s testimony in court. When Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft asked Whitney Henriquez if she was on drugs at the time, Heard’s younger sister made a surprising statement: “It was rare that I was sober,” the Daily Mail reports.

Depp testified back in April, claiming that Heard instead tried to hit him in the incident. Henriquez allegedly intervened at the time and tried to stop her sister. However, Heard punched around her and hit the actor in the face.

Whitney Henriquez also described in court that Amber Heard was cheerful at the beginning of the relationship. At the end of the marriage, however, her sister was emaciated and suffered from insomnia. Johnny Depp controlled Amber Heard more and more over the course of the relationship – her clothes and her career. Whenever Depp consumed alcohol or drugs, there was an argument. Whitney Henriquez had lived with Depp and Heard for a time and considered him her brother.

The Depp v. Heard trial

Johnny Depp has sued Amber Heard for $50 million over an article she published in the Washington Post in 2018. In it, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention her ex-husband by name. Depp claims the post nonetheless ruined his career, damaged his reputation and cost him a lot of money as a result. Heard has filed a $100 million counterclaim against her ex.

The couple got married in 2015. The two separated in 2016 and divorced in 2017. Both parties have repeatedly accused each other of domestic violence. The actor lost a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper “The Sun” in Great Britain in 2020. The newspaper had described Depp in an article as a “wife beater”. Depp has denied all allegations of domestic violence.
