PSG would like to get rid of Neymar but the Brazilian has no intention of leaving. The 30-year-old now clearly confirmed that.

Brazil superstar Neymar has ruled out leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. At a football tournament organized by one of his sponsors in the Qatari capital Doha, the 30-year-old reiterated his desire to stay with the French champions.

“Nobody told me anything but from my side it’s clear that I want to stay,” said Neymar. In the French capital, these statements will be accepted with gnashing of teeth. GOAL and SPOX can confirm a report by L’Equipe, according to which PSG can imagine selling the offensive player if there is a corresponding offer.

Neymar at PSG: crash of a hopeful

Neymar has had a season that has been disappointing for his opportunities, there is not much left of the former whirlwind, for which PSG paid the world record sum of 222 million euros in 2017. The poor performances have led to a rethinking within the club, and the designated future sports director Luis Campos is said to have doubts about Neymar.

However, it is questionable whether PSG will get the Brazilian off the payroll. Only last year he extended his contract until 2025, his salary should be in the range of 30 million euros. No other club is likely to offer him such sums after the developments of the past few months. And according to his statements, it also seems unlikely that Neymar wants to cut back on salary.

A Neymar departure would also further cement Kylian Mbappe’s position as the team’s star. The Frenchman recently signed a new deal until 2025 following a recent transfer melodrama, painfully dismissing Real Madrid. In return, Mbappe should also have an influence on personnel decisions.
