Queen Elizabeth II traditionally awards high honors on her birthday. On their list this time was Damian Lewis.

Queen Elizabeth II (96) is celebrating her official birthday this Thursday with the “Trooping the Color” military parade. Traditionally, numerous personalities are honored with medals on this occasion. This year, British actor Damian Lewis (51) will be named Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the “Queen’s Birthday Honours”. This is reported by the British “Daily Mail”.

The 51-year-old is being honored for his commitment to the corona pandemic. With his wife Helen McCrory (1968-2021) he launched the Feed NHS campaign to provide food to frontline workers. The actor has already responded to the award on Twitter, saying he would like to share it with his late wife. Actress Helen McCrory died in April 2021 at the age of 52 after suffering from cancer.
