From The Mandalorian to an all-new series starring Jude Law, Star Wars Celebration has had a few surprises in store.

The “Star Wars Celebration 2022” ended on Sunday (May 29) after four packed days. At the most important date for all fans of the “far, far away galaxy”, the makers present new projects every two years. This year, Disney’s “Star Wars” series took center stage.

From “The Mandalorian” to “Obi-Wan Kenobi” to a completely new series with Jude Law (49): These are the most important findings of the Anaheim convention.

“Obi-Wan Kenobi”: Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen celebrate

On the second day of the fan fair, the series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” celebrated its premiere at Disney. The stars of the series were celebrating the day before: Ewan McGregor (51) and Hayden Christensen (41) were guests in Anaheim. They slip back into their roles from the prequel trilogy (1999-2005) after almost twenty years.

McGregor plays the title role, Christensen embodies Anakin Skywalker, who transforms into super villain Darth Vader in the films. The two stars presented an exclusive pre-screening of the first two episodes. McGregor also thanked that the prequels, which were initially hated by many fans, have been rated more positively for a few years.

The Mandalorian season 3 release date and teaser

“The Mandalorian” is already established in the Disney series universe. In Anaheim, the creators presented the start date of the third season. And that was a little disappointment for the fans. It won’t start until February 2023. The first scenes from the new episodes were shown at the convention.

Bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, 47) is reunited with the secret star of the series: Grogu, aka Baby Yoda. The story: Din Djarin must clear his name in the new episodes after breaking an oath in season two. He took off his sacred helmet in the presence of strangers.

Teaser for the “Mandalorian” spin-off “Ahsoka” with two fan favorites

The “Celebration” also featured the first footage of the “Mandalorian” offshoot “Ahsoka”. Leading actress Rosario Dawson (43) reported with a video message from the set. She played Ahsoka in the second season of The Mandalorian. A teaser also celebrated its premiere. In addition to the title heroine, Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla are two other popular characters that fans know from the animated series “Star Wars Rebels”.

“Andor” is coming in the summer

“Andor” also seems to be a big thing in the “Star Wars” series world. On Thursday, the makers announced the start date of the series prequel to the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. It should start on August 31, 2022. A trailer for the series has also been released via Twitter. The series about the “Rogue One” hero Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, 42) includes a proud 24 episodes.

New series: “Skeleton Crew” with Jude Law

Completely surprisingly, a completely new series was announced: “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”. The story is set in the same period as “The Mandalorian” and is told from the point of view of ten-year-old children – a first in the Star Warrior universe.

Jon Watts (40), who recently delivered a cinema hit with “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, is directing the series scheduled for 2023. A big-name (adult) actor has also been confirmed: Jude Law.
