For top physical performance we need fit cartilage, fibers and ligaments. When they cause problems and what we can do to keep our menicus healthy.

tendons and ligaments

What are they? Tendons connect muscles to bones, while ligaments are always stretched between two bones. Arranged in groups, they give joints stability and the necessary mobility.

When do they cause problems? The body’s tendons and ligaments are not as elastic as rubber bands. If a joint is moved too much in an unintended direction, the surrounding ligaments are initially overstretched before they tear in or tear off completely. Then immobilization is the best therapy. Unlike tendons, ligaments usually regenerate themselves within a certain period of time. They rarely need to be operated on.
