Teddy Teclebrhan has signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Prime Video. The multi-year cooperation starts in mid-July.

With “One Mic Stand” Teddy Teclebrhan (38) will moderate his first show on Amazon Prime Video from July 15, 2022. But it shouldn’t stop there. The streaming service has tied the comedian to itself for a long time. In a press release, Amazon Prime Video announced a “multi-year, exclusive collaboration” with Teclebrhan.

The deal therefore includes not only shows, but also series and films that Amazon wants to develop with the trained actor. “Teddy is one of the most versatile and surprising entertainers in Germany,” explains Philip Pratt, head of German original productions at Amazon. “We feel a lot of energy and pioneering spirit in our cooperation”.

Teclebrhan also enthuses: “I enjoy the enthusiasm and can-do attitude of Philip Pratt and the teams at Amazon and I’m incredibly excited about the things that we will achieve together”.

From “LOL” to “One Mic Stand”

Tedros “Teddy” Teclebrhan’s collaboration with Amazon Prime Video began in 2021 with “LOL: Last One Laughing.” The Swabian with Eritrean roots convinced in the first season of the comedy show and narrowly failed in the final to Torsten Sträter (55).

The “LOL” successor “One Mic Stand” will start on July 15 as the start of the long-term cooperation. Entertainers like Harald Schmidt (64) and Michael Mittermeier (56) coach celebrities like politician Karl Lauterbach (59) or footballer Mats Hummels (33) to appear as stand-up comedians. Teddy Teclebrhan is not only the moderator but also one of the mentors.
