Apple didn’t just present the iPhone 14 at its September event. There were also three new Apple Watches to show. For the first time there is an Apple Watch Ultra.

In its home country of Cupertino, Apple presented three models of the Apple Watch in addition to the new iPhone 14 (find out more here). The Apple Watch Series 8, the revised economy model Apple Watch SE and the new Apple Watch Ultra. Here you can find out what the new watches are capable of.

The star of the evening is the new Apple Watch Ultra. While Apple previously packaged the same technical capabilities in a more elegant guise in its luxury models, the Pro versions represent a break with this: For the first time, the most expensive version also has more to offer.

Apple Watch Ultra: bigger than ever

At 49 millimeters, the Apple Watch Ultra is the largest watch Apple has ever presented. The larger display allows more content to be displayed at the same time. Apple uses it, for example, to display more information during sports. Thanks to its titanium case and sapphire glass, it is also significantly more robust and better protected against extreme temperatures than the cheaper models.

Apple has completely rethought the watch, and has also tackled speakers, buttons and GPS use in order to optimize it for extreme sports. It is said to offer the best GPS measurement on the market, an action button lets you start training immediately and allows you to measure laps. Apple has even adapted the bracelets and now offers variants especially for divers or climbers.

With the chic look, Apple is targeting luxury customers, and the watch should also offer extreme athletes an option in the Apple universe. The price is surprising: At $799, the Apple Watch Ultra is on the same price point as the stainless steel version. In Germany, unfortunately, it becomes 1000 euros.

Apple Watch Series 8 instead of clinical thermometer

The “simple” Apple Watch Series 8 has changed significantly less than its predecessor. In addition to the new processor, the biggest innovation is that the watch can now monitor the wearer’s body temperature. According to Apple, this helps less than fever detection, but primarily to monitor the female cycle. The watch should be able to recognize fertile days via the temperature. The watch measures the temperature every five seconds while you sleep. In this way, the changes during the cycle should be reliably detected.

Apple also focuses on security elsewhere. Since the older watches can already recognize falls, the new watches can even recognize car accidents as such and, in connection with the vital data, recognize an emergency and report it automatically.

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes in four aluminum 8 colors (black, red, gold and silver) and three stainless steel tones. The price is XXX, pre-orders start immediately, the watch will be available from September 16th

.Apple Watch Se: This is new

The entry-level Apple Watch SE primarily benefits from the newer chip. The aluminum watch, available in silver, black and gold, gets the accident detection, but not the temperature sensor. The SE will also be released on the 16th, pre-orders can be placed immediately.
