His professional colleagues mourn personally

“I lost my brother, my best friend, my right hand,” the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Reagor (23) wrote on Twitter after the announcement. “There’s not much more I can take, dammit! R.I.P. Jeff Gladney bro, please watch over me,” he added.

Reagor also shared his recent exchange with his best friend. You can see parts of a conversation and a red heart.

Cardinals defenseman End JJ Watt (33) also responded to the “appalling news” and “just tragic” on Twitter, Watt wrote.

Gladney had only signed with the team in March and had not yet played an official game with his Cardinals teammates. He was dropped from the Minnesota Vikings roster last year after being charged with assault. According to ESPN, he was found not guilty by a Dallas jury in March and signed with the Cardinals shortly thereafter.

Details of the accident have not yet been released.
