A wedding in Hawaii almost fell through on Saturday. Just before the ceremony could begin in Kailua-Kona, the company was suddenly overwhelmed by several giant waves.

The waves, up to six meters high, crashed against the wall. The water masses overflowed the festively decorated area and simply washed away tables and chairs.

The guests watched helplessly as the wedding party suddenly turned into a wave pool. But everyone was able to get to safety in time.

The wedding couple was undeterred by the flood. The two gave each other the yes word anyway, then the chaos was cleared up. Luckily neither the wedding cake nor the food fell victim to the waves.

A combination of heavy seas and high tide triggered the exceptionally high waves.
