Brands such as Versace, Coperni and Miu Miu have reinterpreted flip-flops for the 2022 summer season and convey a retro feeling and glamour. As already mentioned, flip-flops are no longer only worn on the beach, but also to parties and social events.
Extravagant details instead of rubber
Flip-flops with platform heels, like the ones Kendall Jenner combines with a summer dress on Instagram, are particularly popular this year. The stylish alternative to this are flip-flops with kitten heels – i.e. a narrow mini-heel three to five centimeters high. In addition, the shoes designed for the beach no longer only consist of rubber soles and simple toe posts. The designers have given the summer shoe a stylish update. Instead of rubber, flip-flops can be made of leather or decorated with sequin or feather details.
