The real estate group Vonovia has announced significant rent increases – and cites high inflation as the reason. Did that surprise you? I was surprised that this statement came from the company that owns by far the most apartments in Germany. I would have expected that they would know the legal situation more precisely – because it’s not that easy. However, Vonovia is already rowing back again and emphasizes that there was no specific announcement of rent increases. You may have gone a bit haywire with that statement.
