Johnny Depp will release the album “18” with Jeff Beck in July. The two will appear shortly before in Germany.

Johnny Depp (59) and Jeff Beck (77) have recently appeared together several times. In a few weeks, a joint album of the two will be released. It’s called “18” and will be available from July 15, as the musician announced on Instagram. According to Warner Music, it will be released digitally and on CD first, with a vinyl version to follow on September 30th.

The album’s first single, “This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr,” is available now. The tribute to the actress is “one of the reasons why I asked him if he wanted to make an album with me,” says Jeff Beck about working with Johnny Depp. The accompanying music video can be seen on YouTube.

Johnny Depp accompanies Jeff Beck to Germany

The actor, who has just completed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard (36), accompanies Jeff Beck on his European tour as a special guest. As Warner Music confirms, Depp will also be present at two shows in Germany in July. The two will appear together on July 6th in Frankfurt/Offenbach in the Stadthalle and on July 13th at the Tollwood Festival in Munich.

What was the Depp vs. Heard trial about?

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp married in 2015, separated in 2016 and divorced in 2017. Both had repeatedly accused each other of domestic violence. A jury had largely found the actor right in a defamation lawsuit against Heard in the United States on June 1. He sued her for an article in the Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention him by name, but the jury found her guilty of defamation.

Heard was supposed to wire Depp $15 million, but due to laws in Virginia, where the trial took place, she only has to come up with $10.35 million. She had filed a $100 million counterclaim and Depp was fined $2 million. The actress’ lawyer then announced on US television that her client wanted to appeal and “definitely could not” pay the amount.
