Larry Storch is dead. The actor died Friday at his home on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at the age of 99. This was confirmed by his stepdaughter June Cross of the “New York Times”. Born in New York, he is best known for his series roles.
Beginnings as a stand-up comedian
After dropping out of high school, Storch made his living as a stand-up comedian. He served in the US Navy with actor Tony Curtis (1925-2010). From 1965 to 1967, Storch took on the role of Corporal Randolph Agarn on the ABC sitcom “F Troop.”
The German audience knows him in particular from his appearance in the series “A Terrible Nice Family”, in which he played himself and ran the Larry Storch acting school. He also took on roles in the series “The Ghost Busters”, “Love Boat”, “Columbo” and “Knight Rider”. His films include “The Great Race Around the World” (1965) and “Giant in the Sky” (1974). Storch also worked as a voice actor and was seen as a theater actor on Broadway. On January 8, 2023 Stork would have been 100 years old.
