The “Pirates of the Caribbean” makers are currently negotiating with Margot Robbie for a leading role, as the producer revealed.

While Johnny Depp (58) argues with his ex-wife Amber Heard (36) in the courtroom, the producers of “Pirates of the Caribbean” are looking for new faces for their franchise. Margot Robbie (31) has now obviously been shortlisted.

Two screenplays

According to “Mirror”, Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer (78) is said to have revealed to the “Sunday Times” that they are already in talks with the “Harley Quinn” actress for a leading role in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series. The team is currently working on a sequel – or rather two: “We are developing two ‘Pirates’ scripts – one with her, one without,” says Bruckheimer.

Bruckheimer also commented on Depp and his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. About a possible return, he said: “Not at this point in time.” But also: “The future has not yet been decided.” A reunion with Captain Jack Sparrow, the darling of the public, which Depp has embodied in all five parts since 2003, is therefore not out of the question.
