The Group has grown again in the current financial year. The turnover of the manufacturer of electronic and optical components has increased by a fifth within six months.

The optics group Carl Zeiss was able to continue its good business development in the first half of the year.

The sales of the manufacturer of electronic and optical components increased in the first six months of the current financial year by 20 percent to 4.1 billion euros (previous year: 3.4 billion), as a spokesman in Oberkochen (Ostalbkreis) announced on Wednesday.

At EUR 736 million, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were also well above the figure for the previous year (EUR 591 million). All divisions of the company have contributed to the significant growth dynamics, despite the sometimes challenging framework conditions, said CEO Karl Lamprecht.

The group had already closed the previous financial year with increases in sales and profits. This trend is now continuing, it said. In the 2020/21 financial year, Zeiss had a turnover of around 7.5 billion euros. Operating earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to almost 1.5 billion euros.
