In the ongoing process of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, there are always revelations about the two living together. Now it was about their culture of debate. And that Depp is said to have injured himself more often.

Week five in the trial of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp in Virginia. On Monday, Amber Heard tearfully told jurors she believed she probably “wouldn’t survive” if she had stayed married to Johnny Depp. “I was so scared it was going to end up really bad for me,” she said. “I really didn’t want to leave him. I loved him so much.”

While Amber Heard said the marriage was “very loving at times,” it deteriorated over time to a point where tension and violence became “almost normal.” They divorced in 2017 after two years. Heard claimed on the witness stand that Depp frequently injured himself during their arguments. “In fights, he often cut his arms or held a knife to his chest or bled, only superficially at first,” she said. “He also stubbed out cigarettes on himself,” reports BBC News.

Heard was also scared of Johnny Depp during their honeymoon: On Monday, she claimed that he attacked her on board the Orient Express in Asia after their wedding in February 2015 by hitting her in the sleeping car and holding her by the neck. “He pressed my neck against the wagon for what felt like a very long time.” She said she remembered thinking he might “kill” her.

When asked by her own attorney, Heard said her allegations that Depp physically, emotionally and sexually abused her were true. “He knows he’s guilty – why can’t he look at me?” said Heart. (Depp’s attorney had explained that he avoids eye contact with his ex-wife to honor his promise made in 2016 that Heard would never see his eyes again.)
